Privacy Policy

Last updated:

1. Introduction

Zerquna Studios (“we”, “us”) is an independent game developer. This Privacy Policy explains what information our games and this website handle, why, and what choices you have. We wrote it to describe what our games actually do, not to cover things they do not do.

In short: our games have no accounts, online features, ads or analytics. Your game progress is saved on your own PC. We only receive personal information when you choose to contact us, for example by email. Stores you use to get our games, and the game engines we build with, have their own privacy practices, described below.

2. Scope

This policy applies to the following Zerquna Studios games:

It also applies to this website and to communication with us by email. When we release a new game, we add it to this list. If a game ever handles data differently from what is described here, we will describe the difference in its own section below or publish a separate privacy policy for that game, and link to it from the game’s page.

This policy does not cover the stores and platforms you use to buy or download our games (such as Microsoft Store or itch.io). Their own privacy policies apply to them.

3. Information Collection

3.1 Information our games collect

Our games do not ask for your name, email address or other contact details, and they have no player accounts. Their own code does not send personal information to us or to anyone else over the internet. Game data, such as save files and settings, is stored locally on your PC (see section 4).

The Unity engine used by some of our games may send limited technical device information directly to Unity Technologies. We do not receive this data. See section 5.1 for details.

3.2 Information processed by stores and platforms

When you buy, download or install one of our games through a store such as Microsoft Store or itch.io, that store processes your account, payment and download information as an independent company under its own privacy policy. We do not receive your payment card details. Stores may give developers reports about sales and downloads. If a store shares personal information about you with us, for example to handle a refund or support request, we use it only for that purpose.

3.3 Information you send us

If you email us, we receive your email address, your name if you include it, the content of your message and any attachments you choose to send, such as screenshots, log files or details about your PC. We use this information only to answer you, help with your problem, fix bugs and improve our games. The legal basis for this is our legitimate interest in responding to your request and supporting our games, or the steps you ask us to take.

Log files can contain technical details about your PC (such as hardware, driver and Windows versions) and file paths that may include your Windows user name. Please look at a file before you send it, and only send what you are comfortable sharing.

3.4 This website

This website does not use cookies, analytics, advertising, tracking pixels, contact forms or user accounts, and it does not load fonts or scripts from third-party servers. It is hosted on GitHub Pages. When you visit, GitHub may automatically log technical information such as your IP address, for security and to operate the service (see section 5). If we add a video to a game page, the video player loads from YouTube’s privacy-enhanced domain only after you press play.

4. Local Game Data

Our games save data in files and settings on your own PC. This data stays on your device. We cannot see it, and it is not sent to us. Each game stores different data, so it is described per game below. The exact file locations are listed on each game’s support page.

You can delete this data at any time by deleting the save files and settings listed for the game, or by uninstalling the game and removing those folders. Deleting save files permanently removes your progress.

SpinCraft: Wood Workshop

Engine: Unity 6 · Support page and file locations

Stored on your PC:

  • Game progress (money, experience, orders, purchased items and the current workpiece) is saved as a file on your PC, together with a backup copy.
  • Your finished creations are saved in a separate creation-library file on your PC.
  • The Unity engine writes a technical log file (Player.log) on your PC. It stays on your device unless you choose to send it to us.

Network and third parties:

  • The game has no online features, accounts, multiplayer, advertising or in-game purchases, and its own code does not send data over the internet.
  • Unity Analytics, Unity Cloud Diagnostics (crash reporting) and Unity Performance Reporting are switched off, and the project is not linked to Unity Cloud, so no diagnostic or analytics data is sent to Zerquna Studios.
  • The game is built with the Unity engine. In the current build configuration, Unity’s engine-level hardware statistics option is enabled. This may allow the Unity engine to send limited technical information about your device (for example operating system, processor, graphics card and memory) to Unity Technologies. Zerquna Studios does not receive this information. Unity processes it under its own privacy policy.

SpinCraft 2: Creative

Engine: Unity 6 · Support page and file locations

Stored on your PC:

  • Game saves are stored as files on your PC.
  • Game settings are stored by the Unity engine in your Windows user registry.

Echoes of the Earth

Engine: Unity 6 · Support page and file locations

Stored on your PC:

  • Worlds are saved as files on your PC (one folder per world slot), including backup and temporary files used to protect your saves.

VELKRION: THE FIRST BREACH

Engine: Godot 4 · Support page and file locations

Stored on your PC:

  • A checkpoint save (with a copy of the previous one as a backup) is written to your PC once the generator is running. It contains game progress only: the chapter, puzzle state, your position, weapons and ammunition, opened doors, the zombies alive at that moment, your kill count and flashlight state.
  • Audio settings and combat display settings (damage numbers, camera shake) are saved in small settings files on your PC.
  • The Godot engine writes technical log files on your PC. They stay on your device unless you choose to send them to us.

Network and third parties:

  • The game has no online features, accounts, multiplayer, advertising or in-game purchases, and its code does not send data over the internet.
  • The Godot engine does not include analytics or telemetry, and no third-party analytics or crash-reporting services are used.

5.1 Unity engine

SpinCraft, SpinCraft 2: Creative and Echoes of the Earth are built with the Unity engine. We have switched off Unity Analytics, Unity Cloud Diagnostics (crash reporting) and Unity Performance Reporting, and these projects are not linked to Unity Cloud. However, in the current build configuration, Unity’s engine-level hardware statistics option is enabled. This may allow the Unity engine to send limited technical information about your device, such as operating system, processor, graphics card and memory, to Unity Technologies. Zerquna Studios does not receive this information. Unity processes it under the Unity Privacy Policy (opens in a new tab). VELKRION: THE FIRST BREACH is built with the Godot engine, which does not include any telemetry.

6. Data Sharing

We do not sell, rent or trade personal information, and we do not share it with advertisers or data brokers. We only share personal information in these cases:

  • Service providers that process data as part of the services listed in section 5, for example our email provider storing messages you send us.
  • Legal requirements: when we are required to by law, court order or a valid request from a public authority.
  • Protection: when it is necessary to protect our rights, our players or others, for example to investigate fraud or abuse.
  • With your consent: in any other case, only if you clearly agree first.

Some of these providers (such as Google, GitHub, Microsoft and Unity) are based in, or process data in, other countries including the United States. When this happens, they are responsible for protecting the data under their own privacy commitments.

7. Children’s Privacy

Our games do not ask for or collect personal information from players of any age, including children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13, or under the minimum age set by the law of their country. If you believe a child has sent us personal information, for example by email, please contact us and we will delete it.

Age ratings for our games are set on each store page. Please check the store page to see whether a game is suitable for a child.

8. Data Security

We keep the amount of personal information we hold as small as possible, and protect it as follows:

  • Our games do not transmit personal information, and we do not run game servers or player databases, so there is no player database that could be breached.
  • Game data stays on your PC, protected by your own Windows user account.
  • This website is static, collects no data, and is served over encrypted HTTPS connections.
  • Support emails are kept in our email account, which only Zerquna Studios can access, protected by the security features of our email provider.

No method of storage or transmission is completely secure, but we will tell affected people and the authorities about a data breach where the law requires it.

9. Data Retention

  • Local game data stays on your PC until you delete it. We never have a copy.
  • Emails and attachments are kept only as long as needed to resolve your request and handle reasonable follow-up questions, and are then deleted. You can ask us to delete your messages at any time.
  • Data held by stores, Unity and GitHub is kept according to their own retention policies.

10. User Rights

Depending on where you live, you may have rights over your personal information. For example, under the EU and UK General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and Turkey’s Personal Data Protection Law No. 6698 (KVKK), you may have the right to:

  • find out whether we hold personal information about you and get a copy of it;
  • have incorrect information corrected;
  • have your information deleted;
  • object to or restrict how we use your information;
  • receive your information in a portable format, where applicable;
  • withdraw consent at any time, where we rely on consent;
  • complain to your local data protection authority (in Turkey, the Personal Data Protection Authority, KVKK).

To use any of these rights, email us at zerquna.studios@gmail.com. We will reply within the time required by applicable law (for example, within one month under the GDPR and within 30 days under KVKK). We may ask for information to confirm that a request comes from you. Exercising your rights is free of charge.

Because local game data never reaches us, you control it directly on your PC (see section 4). For data held by Microsoft, itch.io, Unity, GitHub or Google, please use the privacy tools or contact details of that company, as listed in their privacy policies.

11. Policy Updates

We update this policy when our games, the services we use, or the law change, and before we add any feature that would collect personal information. The date of the latest change is shown at the top of this page. If we make an important change, we will also describe it at the top of this page. This page always shows the current version.
